Day 1 - January 27, 2015

This is Trinket.  He is approximately 4 months old.  Sometime early in January, he suffered a terrible burn on the back of his head and back. He was taken by an animal control officer to the Northern Utah Valley Animal Services.  On January 27th he was rescued by Paws For Life Utah and taken to Dr. Isom at Wasatch Animal Hospital in Heber.  We learned that he had deep third degree burns. Dr. Isom said he was certainly was in a great deal of pain when this burn occurred.  During his time at NUVAS, his wound had developed a thick crust of blood and charred skin.  He also had an upper respiratory infection.  Dr. Isom gave him antibiotics and a little t-shirt to protect the burn area.

During the two weeks after he was burned, his skin contracted significantly on his back and neck, pulling his eyes back uncomfortably.

You can see where the skin on his back has contracted and restricts his movement.
